Dr. Erin Alexander is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience as a leader, clinician and advocate. Dr. Alexander has been deeply committed to the work of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion throughout her career, beginning with a focus on anti-racism training, cultural competence and cultural humility with graduate students and practicing clinicians. Dr. Alexander has been actively involved in fortifying the pipeline for diverse graduate students into the field of psychology as a mentor, advocate and training director. Dr. Alexander is a member the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Training Advisory Committee (TAC) for the APA Minority Fellowship Program. As a TAC member, Dr. Alexander provides mentorship and advocacy for graduate students training to work with communities of color.
Dr. Alexander is an experienced and successful clinician and leader, using her influence to raise the level of expectations for individuals who seek to provide culturally relevant clinical and community-based services. Dr. Alexander’s advocacy work has now extended into the legislative arena at the state and national level, with an emphasis on laws and appropriations that ensure equitable access to high quality services for historically marginalized populations.
Dr. Alexander has a successful private practice and has held leadership positions at the state and national level. Dr. Alexander’s EDI consultation activities have continued to evolve alongside her experience as a clinician and leader. After years of involvement with challenging individuals, programs and institutions, Dr. has become particularly skilled at facilitating strategic planning and execution of EDI efforts as well as addressing barriers to reaching identified goals.
